A note from the teacher
We are working hard on the common core standards. You should be seeing more involved writing skills, higher demand reading, and more difficult math assignments. Please continue to look over returned class work with your student. Ask them to explain what they have done/learned. This reinforces the skills and makes it easier for them to remember.
Make a special spot for your student to keep his or her school work. When folders come home they know where to put it so nothing is misplaced. You will know where homework is so you can monitor completion. It can be a desk, a special drawer or basket, or a Costco box (decorated and labeled).
Our Room Parent is Mrs. West. I know she wants to share this important job so let me know if you will help her. I should have a volunteer schedule drafted soon. I like to get kids used to me before hand. We also have 2 high school helpers that seem very nice.
